When it comes to packing a beauty bag, no one does it better than a makeup artist. These experts are always on the go but they seem to look the most “put together”. Their cumulative advice? Pack light! We love the “bag in a bag” philosophy – that is, prepare a small bag for each of your needs – basics, add-ons, moisturizers, cleansers, etc. We’ve asked a few experts to give us some tips to keep us all looking great – no matter where we are!

The Essentials

  • Concealer/eye primer
  • Waterproof mascara
  • Hydrating Lipstick
  • A base for the skin – a light tint or foundation
  • A good eyebrow kit
  • A good face primer/treatment
  • The Add-Ons

  • Cream-to-powder eyeshadow (it stays on longer). We suggest a compact that holds 2 or 3 shades for versatility
  • Eyeliner
  • Lip plumper
  • Vaseline – it works on everything!
  • Corrector – try our T.LeClerc Corrector Palette for five camouflaging concealers in one!
  • Eye makeup remover (especially for waterproof mascara)
  • A good set of compact brushes
  • Moisturizers and Cleansers

  • Anti-aging moisturizer that can adapt to any climate
  • Facial cleanser that doubles as an exfoliator and has toning properties
  • Firming body lotion
  • Body exfoliator
  • Treatment serum
  • Multi-tasking eye cream
  • Hair

  • A brush, comb and your favorite travel size shampoo and conditioner of course
  • Travel sizes of your everyday gels, sprays, leave-in conditioners
  • Another trick we like is a dry shampoo so you don’t have to wash your hair on the go
  • Everything should have as many purposes as possible – – concealers that double as eyeshadow primers, foundations that double as moisturizers and sun blockers, powders that not only color but blot oil. These all work to decrease the number of items you take with you when you travel.
