“Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a great buy essays online battle.“
What three words best describe your style?
A bit hippie. A bit romantic. A bit artistic. A bit traditional. My style is as schizophrenic as my moods, I suppose. 🙂
My idea of a perfect day is. . . ?
I love the fall weather after a hot summer. It makes me want to stay inside and make crafts galore – or go outside and walk for miles with my husband. I suppose the best day is not having to decide between the two but getting to enjoy both!
Who has most inspired your fashion sense?
Although my style is not as refined as my mother’s, she certainly had a large influence on my interest in fashion. My creative flair seems to spill over into my home decor and fashion choices. The three seem to be inextricably
What one fashion rule do you always abide by?
I absolutely have to feel ‘right’ when I look in the mirror. Whether I am dressing up or dressing casual, if I don’t feel like I look good, then I won’t. Fashion is 99% mental!
The biggest fashion faux pas (mistake) I ever made was. . .
Stirrup pants in the ‘80s!
What article of clothing is at the top of your shopping list?
Lingerie. It’s the canvas that everything is built upon.
Describe what’s in your travel beauty bag.
I am a lifetime convert to the Jane Iredale Pure Lash eyelash conditioner. It is probably one of the best makeup items I have purchased in a long time.
The best beauty advice I ever received was. . .
Your smile speaks louder than anything on your face.
Name your signature scent.
Old-fashioned gardenias and rose-scented things are my absolute favorite.
How do you unwind?
I very much enjoy reading blogs about design, art, faith, photography, decor and fashion. It relaxes me to let my mind wander around in those worlds.
Where is your favorite place to travel?
I love the sounds of the sea. In the States, I would prefer the East Coast. There is so much
culture and early American history jam-packed into one small territory.
Do you have a passion project or hobby?
Laughing….I have TOO MANY passion projects and hobbies! This year I would like to learn to quilt. Modern quilts are my attraction. But I scrapbook and paint and crochet and make jewelry and bake… and again, “laughing”!
Describe the most memorable gift you’ve ever received.
My son brought me a pink ‘vase’ one time that he found while playing with his buddies. He said it looked like something I would like. Those are the BEST gifts, those that made someone think about you when they saw it. In reality, it was a lamp jar base with all the wires, etc gone. My son thought it was neat because you could put flowers in it on either end!
How has your style evolved over the years?
In some ways it hasn’t much at all. I still gravitate to some of the very things I would have enjoyed in high school. Mostly, I have learned what colors and styles look best on me, and which ones do NOT. It makes shopping much easier when you can jump over the things you have found to historically not work.
One item I never leave the house without. . .
My phone! I am a sorry addict, but an addict nonetheless. There is always an Instagram to be taken and a text to be sent!
Quote to live by?
“Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a great battle.” Everyone has a ‘story’. A background. A hardship. To assume otherwise is to pass over a person without demonstrating compassion. We all need it. We all search for it. To encounter everyone with a measure of grace is truly the way society should exist.
